Tonight on Showtime; three of the most exciting fighters in the world make their long awaited returns to the ring. The triple header takes place in Carson, California and promises to be exciting, if not competitive.
The night opens up with lightweight champion Omar Figueroa taking on the unranked Jerry Belmontes. Figueroa is getting handled carefully in this fight, so expect him to win. He has never been one to make any fight easy though, so expect a decent fight for as long as it lasts. Figueroa by stoppage.
In the co-feature the hard punching Lucas Matthysse begins his long comeback road against fringe contender John Molina. Matthysse is going to be out to make a statement tonight and Molina does not have the most steady chin. Matthysse by viscous early knockout.
In the main event, one of the most exciting and avoided welterweights in the world, Keith Thurman makes his long awaited return to the ring. Thurman takes on journeyman Julio Diaz. Diaz looked impressive against Khan, and is a very underrated fighter. It wont matter tonight however. Thurman will be way more than Diaz can handle. Thurman by a middle rounds stoppage.
