It has been confirmed; on March 8th, in Las Vegas, Nevada Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will face Mexican slugger Alfredo “El Perro” Angulo on Showtime PPV. Ever since Miguel Cotto announced that he would not be facing Canelo, fans have been dying to know whether Canelo would be facing Carlos Molina or Alfredo Angulo.
Angulo has not been in the ring since June 2013 when he was stopped by Erislandy Lara in a very close fight. Angulo dropped Lara twice and was coming on strong when he was nailed by a hard left hand which immediately closed Angulo’s left eye. Angulo turned his back and walked away giving the referee no choice but to stop the fight.
Canelo is also coming off a loss, in September 2013 he lost basically every second of his super-fight with Floyd Mayweather jr. Canelo is looking to bounce back and make a big statement, his team believes that Angulo will be the perfect opponent for him to do just that.
This fight promises to deliver tons of action and will likely end in knockout.
