The Cobra Appears Ready To Strike This Weekend

It may not be the biggest event this weekend, but the super middleweight clash between Carl “The Cobra” Froch and fellow countryman George Groves promises to provide plenty of excitement. Froch, fresh off a unanimous decision victory over Mikkel Kessler is looking to make another big statement against the unbeaten Groves.

There has been no shortage of trash talking between the two fighters, Froch has made it perfectly clear that he expects to knock Groves out this weekend. Groves claims that he has all the answers to beating Froch, whether or not that is true, we will have to wait and see. Although, on paper, this does not appear to be a good match-up for Groves.

Should Froch pull out the victory this weekend, he will essentially have his pick of any of the top guys between 168 and 175. Bernard Hopkins has shown interest in facing Froch, as well as pound for pound number two Andre Ward. Should Froch decide to move to light heavyweight, matches against Adonis Stevenson or Sergey Kovalev would guarantee to provide some serious fireworks. However, Groves has the chance to put all Froch’s goals on hold though, but to do so, he will have to play the part of the snake charmer this weekend.

Who do you think will win this weekend? Let me know what you think in the comments section below.
