Can The Bronze Bomber Keep The Knockouts Coming?

Image

This weekend, Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (29-0 29 KOs) returns to the ring on the Undercard of Bernard Hopkins vs Karo Murat. Wilder will take on journeyman Nicolai Firtha im a stay busy bout; this is a fight he is expected to win, but more importantly will be how he wins. Firtha has lost 3 of his last 5 fights and has lost every time he has stepped up in competition. Anything short of a spectacular knockout would be a huge disappointment for the for the Olympic Bronze Medalist.

Should he get past Firtha this weekend, he future will look very bright going into next year; he has been mentioned as a future opponent for Cristobal “The Nightmare” Arreola, and Bryant Jennings. Both would be great fights, and would be very winnable for the Alabama native.

For those of you who will be tuning in this weekend; make sure not to blink, because this fight could be over quick!

  1. For guys like Wilder, clearly, the jury is still out. However, if he were to be able to get past a Chris Arreola, now that’s another story. Arreola, though beaten, has proven he is one tough hombre. And Arreola is at that juncture in every fighter’s career where it is do or die. Once Wilder dispatches with another “nobody” let’s see what he can do with a “somebody.” Bring on Arreola. Unless Arreola is shot from all the damage he has taken lately, I definitely think he could “surprise” the uninitiated.

    • I totally agree with you. Although, there are a lot of guys I would like to see him face as well as Arreola. I think a fight against Tony Thompson would be a big step up, also Bryant Jennings, Tomasz Adamek (although Adamek doesnt have the stones) or even Seth Mitchell would all be nice steps up for him.
