Saturday Night: Confidence Booster

This Saturday night will be a very weak night of fights. With nothing notable on the schedule, boxing fans desperate to catch some action will have to settle for a pair of tune up bouts. In Tijuana, Antonio Demarco will be hoping to come back from the devastating beating that he took from Adrien Broner nearly nine months ago. He will be facing the little known Fidel Monterrosa Munoz in a 10 round bout.

Also Anselmo Moreno will be back in action for the first time since his decision loss to Abner Mares last November. He is in relatively light against the unheralded WIlliam Urina from Columbia. The fight will be taking place in Panama City and will feature Oscar Escandon vs Nehomar Cermeno for the vacant WBA interim juinor featherweight title.

Look for Anselmo Moreno to win a wide unanimous decision and Antonio Demarco to get the stoppage.

Weak night of fights… but look forward to next week’s HBO card featuring Daniel Geale vs Darren Barker and Sergey Kovalev vs Nathan Clevery.
